Towards the learning society (Hardcover)

In this book, Stewart Ranson promotes a "learning society", which would create the conditions for motivation in the classroom. He looks at what is needed for the renewal of education in a society undergoing great change, and argues that any programme of education reform needs to build upon, and go beyond, the achievements of the "social democratic" project of the 1960s and 1970s as well as the "new-liberal" project of the 1980s.
