Sue Bradley who won the 1983 Courtelle Award for hand-knit design, presents here a selection of styles representing countries such as Poland and Peru and areas as far apart as Africa, North America, Australasia, the Orient and Asia. She provides a source of inspiration from the Aborigine boy paint, African masks, Incan textiles and Korean kimonos.;Each country is represented by one sweater and three or four variations are given for the main pattern with suggestions for alternative colouring.
