How To Create Your Personal Image - For Men - Enjoy A Wardrobe That Works For You (Paperback)

In my many years in the Image Industry, I often get asked by men "how do I put a wardrobe together, my clothes selection is a real mess?" It is not hard to put a quality wardrobe together that will be suitable for all occasions, but it will take some time and of course money. One of the main secrets of selecting clothes is to think "classic" and "quality" and make sure your clothes fit properly. For example, a quality suit that costs say $500 or more will look better and last longer than one that costs just $250. The fabric will be of a better quality, the style and cut will be better, and so will the fit. Therefore, your initial investment for good quality clothes will probably be higher than if you select cheap clothes, but it is the long term investment that counts here. A good quality suit could last 10 years or longer, whilst a cheap suit will have to be replaced more frequently. So whist it might appear that a "bargain" suit was more cost effective, in the long run it isn't. When putting your wardrobe together it is important to select clothes that are interchangeable. So what do I mean by being interchangeable? It means that each item of clothing will match a number of complementary items that will create many different "looks." You should strive to build your clothes selection so that at least 60-70 percent of the items in your wardrobe will be interchangeable with each other. And the best way to do this is to choose "classic" clothes to build your wardrobe around. Take a navy blue suit as an example. If it can be worn with 10 out of 15 dress shirts in your collection, then it is interchangeable. And if you have a selection of say 10 ties as well that can be interchanged with the blue suit and dress shirts, then you have many different combinations to work with. Now at the other end of the scale, if you have a suit that only looks good with say two or three of your dress shirts and probably only two or three ties, then that is not very interchangeable. I have covered a lot of guidelines for you in this book, and if you follow them, you will be able to put a wardrobe together that is right for you-for whatever business you are in, your figure style and your preferences. Looking the part-especially in business-often means the difference between engaging with your client and getting the order, or missing out and one of your competitors gets the order instead. So make sure it is you who has the confidence to go out there in this increasingly competitive business world-and one of the ways you can do this is by reading my book and making sure you always look the part Tatyana Jacques is a professional personal and business coach.
