when two boys village is ruined they were ale to survive and pass threw it and now they are on they on. they find Mai maria who helps them cross the Limpopo river in order to find innocent dad in a place called Jozi. they pass threw difficult places. in south africa they fear xenophobia.

An impressive youth novel from South African author Michael Williams. Two brothers flee Zimbabwe after their village is wiped out in political violence. All Deo has is his older brother, and his soccer ball which doubles as a hiding place for their money. South Africa is not the safe haven they seek as they experience exploitation and zenophobia. A powerful, well-written story.
