John Bailey, an independent, self-absorbed man, decides to go caving but makes a grave mistake by going alone. He is swept into the cave by a freak flash flood. He has to rediscover his faith, his direction in life and has to redefine his appreciation for existence. His trials take him through various sections of the cave, through a self remembrance of various Bible passages and into a rebirth of faith.
