Harriet is a 10-year-old girl who dreams of escaping her boring life at the family-run motel where she lives with her alcoholic mother and promiscuous older sister. When Rickey, a 30-year-old mentally challenged man, arrives he is quickly befriended by Harriet and they jointly weave a plan to escape their lives. Sadly, their secret kingdom is eventually uncovered, and their well-intentioned bust suspicious families cast doubt on the innocence of their friendship.
