Arthur Returned (Paperback)

The year is 2014. Over the past nine years, dramatic changes have occurred within the country of the Peoples Republic of Mongolia. A rather large oil deposit, previously undiscovered because advancement in technology had been unable to penetrate the depths until now, and a large deposit of the precious metal platinum, has turned this backward, third world communist nation into a world economic power. Its dynamic prime minister, Tem?jin Baatar, has visions for his country beyond that most men would dream. As the country prospers, the population rate increases and with it, the demand for natural resources. Most precious and desirable among these is fresh water, something Mongolia has in very limited quantities. A few miles north, across the Russian border in the south Siberian steppe and the region of Irkutsk, lay Lake Baikal, the largest fresh water lake in the world.
