Appendix A explains the structure of the demonstration program, data collection methods, the survey instruments and the limitations of this report. The overall research effort consists of a team of consultants directed by Boeing Aerospace Company under contract to the Department of Housing and Urban Development. In addition to Real Estate Research Corporation, the major participants are Dubin-Bloome Associates, AIA-Research Corporation, Franklin Institute Research Laboratories and the National Bureau of Standards . RERC is monitoring and assessing the market acceptance of solar homes. Other program components include monitoring the construction process and the technical evaluation of the solar systems installed in the grant units.
