Northerly winds and partly cloudy and clearing weather are reported from New England. Northeasterly winds and generally clear weather have prevailed in the Middle Atlantic States; southwesterly winds, cloudy weather, and light rain in the South Atlantic States. Northerly gales in Texas have diminished to fresh and brisk northwest winds, with rising temperature. Southwest and southeast winds, with cloudy weather and occasional light rain, are reported from the Ohio Valley. Fresh to brisk northeast winds from Lake Erie and the Upper Lakes and Wisconsin, with rain in the latter State. Cold northerly winds, with rain or snow, apparently prevail over Kansas and Nebraska, with rising barometer. No r.-ports have been received since Monday afternoon from Western Minnesota, Dakota, and the Rocky Mountain stations. At that time a severe snow-storm was prevailing in Dakota and Nebraska. The rivers have fallen at Pittsburgh and Omaha, and risen at Cairo and Saint Paul. PROBABILITIES. The area of lowest barometer extend on Wednesday slowly eastward over the Ohio Valley and Michigan, and a second barometric, depression develop on the Middle Atlantic coast. P'or New England and the Middle States, northeasterly winds and generally cloudy weather; for the Sotilli Atlantic, States, southwesterly winds and cloudy weather; for the Gulf States, northwesterly winds, partly cloudy and clearing weather; for the Ohio Valley, winds veer to southwest and west, cloudy weather, and possibly rain; for the L&ke region, generally increasing northeasterly winds, cloudy and rainy weather.
