Gives conditions necessary for cracking petroleum in the liquid phase, compares this process with cracking in the gas phase, and gives results of experiments. Advantages gained are higher quality and yield, freedom from further cracking in the vapor phase, saving of heat, removal of gasoline as formed, and the deposit of carbon in the oil rather than on the walls of the tubes. 828.
