JONAH KUHIO KALANIANAOLE, Republican, of Waikiki, district of Honolulu, island of Oahu; was born March 26, 1871, at Koloa, island of Kauai, Hawaii; was educated in Honolulu, the United States, and England; is a capitalist; was employed in the office of minister of the interior and in the custom-house under the monarchy; is cousin to the late King Kalakaua and Queen Liliuokalani, monarchs of the then Kingdom of Hawaii, and nephew of Queen Kapiolani, Consort of Kalakaua; was created prince by royal proclamation in 1884; married Elizabeth Kahanu Kaauwai, daughter of a chief of the island of Maui, October 8, 1896; was elected Delegate to the Fifty-eighth and Fifty-ninth Congresses, and reelected to the Sixtieth Congress, receiving 7,364 votes to 2,884 for E.
