I found that during the fiscal year 1906-7 there were treated here 81 cases of lead colic, and during the year 1907-8, 62 cases, or about 5 cases a month. We have received here all phases of the disease. Most of the patients have worked in lead or were ainters by occupation. The disease as met with here is characterized by general wea ness, soreness in the limbs, pain in the abdomen, which is often of a colicky nature. The patients complain often of obstinate consti ation and headache. At times the mouth and gums become sore and a characteristic lue line shows itself along the margins of the gums. The disease also shows itself by changes which take lace in the blood and also in the nervous system, affecting especially the extremities. he patients complain of wrist drop or foot drop, and in many instances paralysis of the extremities results which ma be more or less permanent.
