On motion by Mr. Foraker, and by unanimous consent, The Senate proceeded to consider the nomination of Ella B. Elliott; and Resolved, That the Senate advise and consent to her appointment, agreeably to the nomination. Mr. Clark, from the Committee on the Judiciary, to whom wa- referred, the 20th instant, the nomination of J. F. Emmitt, reported favorably thereon. Mr. Hoar, from the same committee, to whom was referred. December 17 last, the nomination of Frank Simmons, reported adversely thereon. ()n motion by Mr. Hoar, Ordered, That the consideration of the said nomination be postponed until July 12 next, The Senate proceeded to consider the nominations of the following persons for appointment in the Volunteer Army, to wit, Harper H. McCaleb, of Texas, Robert A. Rogers, of Texas, William T. Levy, of Texas, William F. Starley, of Texas, Henry A. Ingalls, of Texas, James M. Kirwin, of Texas, David, C.
