We will now hear Capt. B. F. Miller, TJ. S. A., Motor Transport Corps. TESTIMONY OF CAPT. B. F. MILLER, UNITED STATES ARMY. (The witness was duly sworn by Mr. Flood.) Mr. Ansell. Captain, give your name and your rank. Capt. Miller. B. F. Miller, Captain Infantry, detailed Quartermaster Corps. Mr. Ansell. What duty are you on at the present time? Capt. Miller. I am on duty as a special student and representative for the Motor Transport Corps at the General Staff College. Mr. Ansell. What rank did you hold during the war, and what duties did you perform? Capt. Miller. I was a lieutenant-colonel in the Motor Transport Corps, and at the beginning of the war I was stationed at Marfa, Tex., in charge of the tests of motor vehicles, to determine suitable types for use in the war. In August, 1917, I was ordered to the Quartermaster General's Office and assigned to the transportation division and the motor transport section. I remained in that office until about April, 1918, when I went to France as a special representative of the Quartermaster General's Department, to determine the transport needs. I returned from France in June, and continued in the motor transport service of the Quartermaster General's Office. When the Motor Transport Corps was formed, in compliance with general order No. 75, I was transferred to the Motor Transport Corps and was assigned to duty as direct assistant to Gen. Drake...
