This arrangement permits the mother to enjoy a good night's sleep, which in itself favors the secretion of milk. INVOLUNTARY ESCAPE OF MILK. Cause---Deficient tone in the milk ducts, which often co. exists with loss of tone in the general constitution. Remedies--Lotions of borax and alum are recommended as applications to the breast. Accessory Means---The breasts should be sponged with equal parts of cold vinegar and water (or one part of strong acetic acid to twelve artsof cold water), morning and evenin, and ra idly and carefu ly dried with a soft towel afterwards. 0 keep t e dress from tting soiled nipple-glasses or rubber shells may be worn; but t ey should never be used, unless absolutely necessary, as they are apt to keep up, instead of diminish, the flow of milk.'
