A motion by Mr. Payne to reconsider the several votes by which the several bills were passed to-day was, on his motion, laid on the table. The hour of 6 o'clock having arrived, the Speaker, pursuant to previous order of the House, declared the House adjourned until tomorrow at 12 o'clock noon. REPORTS OF COMMITTEES ON PUBLIC BILLS AND RESOLUTIONS. Under clause 2 of Rule 13, bills and resolutions of the following titles were severally reported from committees, delivered to the Clerk, and referred to the several Calendars therein named as follows: Mr. Davidson, from the Committee on Railways and Canals, reported a bill of the House (H. R. 14261) to incorporate the Lake Erie and Ohio River Ship Canal Company and defining the powers thereof in lieu of H. R. 1067, accompanied by a report (No. 2946); which said bill and report were referred to the House Calendar. He also, from the same committee, to which was referred the joint resolution of the House (H.J. Res. 307) authorizing the President of the United States to appoint a commission to examine and report upon a route for the construction of a free and open waterway to connect the waters of the Chesapeake and Delaware bays, reported the same with an amendment, accompanied bv a report (No. 2947); which said joint resolution and report were referred to the Committee of the Whole House on the state of the Union.
