After last year's fantastic sci-fi animation tale Wall-E
, Disney Pixar have once again come up with another winner for the whole family to enjoy. This truly original adventure has abundant laughs, lots of heart, and a generous helping of excitement and thrills.
78-year-old Carl Fredricksen is recently widowed (the first 5 minutes brilliantly display how he met Ellie, the love of his life, and also how they shared that life together). Now, lonely and grumpy, he decides to follow Ellie's dream, by travelling to the lost world of Paradise Falls in South America, via balloons attached to his house. He gets a stowaway on board, and the stage is soon set for an awesome and hilarious adventure as they encounter talking dogs (don't ask), huge birds and of course, a dastardly villain.
Many of the heartfelt moments might not be appreciated by the kids, but this movie can still be enjoyed by all. The last 40 minutes are filled with non-stop excitement and laughs, and it's safe to say this movie is just as brilliant as Wall-E. (5 out of 5, by Carlisle Johnson)
is a comedy adventure about 78-year-old balloon salesman Carl Fredricksen, who finally fulfills his lifelong dream of a great adventure when he ties thousands of balloons to his house and flies away to the wilds of South America.
But he discovers all too late that his biggest nightmare has stowed away on the trip: an overly optimistic 9-year-old Wilderness Explorer named Russell.
