Excerpt: ...upon the oath and request of twelve freehol ders, &c.--nor in any wise of kin to the owner thereof, ) to appear, at the dwellinghouse of said James Jackson, in said town, on the 25th day of March instant, at one o clock in the afternoon, to make a jury, who, together with us, may assess the damages which the said James'has sustained, by reason of the laying out of said highway. And have then there the names of the jurors and this warrant. Witness our hands, March 22d, 1825.:2 L Justices of the Peace. The freeholders, when convened, must be sworn, by one of the Justices. FORM OF OATH You do swear, in the presence of Almighty God, that you will assess the damages which James Jack son claims to have sustained by reason of the laying out of the highway now in question, according to the best ofyour Judgment and ability. A record of the assessment of damages should be drawn, signed by the Justices and jury, and delivered to the commissioners of highways. FORM or nnconnf Bnoom: Conrrrv, ss..
