Even though Vini Reilly (aka Durutti Column) came up in the Manchester post-punk scene, his music was always more ambient-leaning, so it makes perfect sense that he would venture into soundtracks. TREATISE ON THE STEPPENWOLF contains the music Reilly wrote for the 12 Stars theater group's play of the same name, staged in Glasgow. It's very much of a piece with the rest of the DC catalog, full of ethereal guitar atmospheres drifting by in fragile clouds of delay and reverb.
