"In the comnunity we are located, a man may own and live on a five acre tract; he works eight hours a day at the factory and does not have the time to cultivate his orchard, but we have arranged with farmers in the community, who will cultivate, irrigate and tend to any of our cmployes tractsat regular intervals for a stipulated sum, and "with this arrangement one of our employees may have his home on a five or ten acre orchard tract and may enjoy the fruits and profits of his land as well as of his labor without interfering in any way with his position at the factory. We will employ one hundred skilled and well paid mechanics at the new plant at Irvington, most of-mom will be men with families. Our aim is to employ only such men as we know to be worthy of association with our Company and then to tie these men to our organization by tying them to the community. In going into a community like we are going into, a community, the future of which is in the making, we aim to make community interest an incentive for employees to remain permanently with our organization.
