The Collection (Electronic book text)

,
Carter is a young man, just out of university. He has the world at his feet. However, one stormy autumn night he is taken away from that world and transported to another, more sinister world. "What is this place?" he wonders as he takes his first tentative steps into the dark forest. It is here he meets Paul, an Australian, who is in a similar state of bewilderment. Together they begin to explore their new world, hoping to find a way back home. They come across a stream and are able to quench their thirst and bathe, but their joy at finding water is broken by a shrill screech, which tears through the silence. What they are about to encounter will fill them with terror. Yet it is only the first taste of all that is to follow.
