Jailbreak... at 38,000 feet!
US Marshall Pete Nessip's prisoner parachutes out of a 747 and floats safely into the night with his daring, deadly cohorts. Nessip does his best to stop the bold escape. What does he get in return? Suspended.
But being off the force doesn't mean Nessip is out of the action. When it comes to stopping killers, he's taking the plunge.
As Nessip, Wesley Snipes free-falls into the daredevil world of sky-diving to track down a cadre of techno terrorists in Drop Zone.

Starring Wesley Snipes, Gary Busey, and Yancy Butler, this action film is a tribute to the skill and training of sky-divers. It also faces an interesting question; namely, is it possible for a man to survive his jumping from a commercial C14 jet, flying at 30 000 feet...and survive? This is what Pete Nessip (Wesley Snipes) sets out to investigate.
Pete and his brother Terry (Malcolm Jamal-Warner, of “The Cosby Show” fame) are both US Marshals who are escorting prison inmate Earl Reedy (Michael Jetser) – a computer expert – to a high-security orison, when an apparent terrorist highjack attempt blows a hole in the tailplane. Terry is sucked out to his death, taking Leedy with him. Pete is blamed for overreacting to the wholle incident, and is forced to turn in his badge.
Even though now officially off the force, Pete learns that the bomb in the plane may have been part of an elaborate prison break intended to free Leedy, and that former DEA agent and ex-convict Ty Mongrief (Gary Busey) was behind the whole thing; but the authorities pay no attention to him. Mongrief, meanwhile, is found to be heavily involved in drug dealing, and apparently planned on using Reedy to hack into the DEA mainframe computer in Washington DC so that he could auction off the names of undercover agents to drug cartels worldwide. Mongrief is a really nasty piece of work...but also a world-class skydiver!
An interesting 101 minute movie, with Mr Snipes in a different kind of role to that in which we're accustomed to seeing him!
