The Kingdom is the world. Nothing less is big enough for the King; nothing else can satisfy the King's subjects. It is passing strange that the schools for training the leaders of this great campaign have been so slow in recognizing the relative importance of a department of instruction that would open the eyes of the student to the worldwideness of their task and prepare them to meet it. Yet departments of missions are few and of very recent origin in the theological schools of Methodism, and of the other churches as well. The Home Base Commission of the Edinburgh Conference reported that "out of one hundred and fifteen theological seminaries in America that answered their inquiries, thirty-eight, or one third of the whole number, reported that they did not include the study of missions in their curricula, either in the form of elective or required courses....
