Now that the original AtyvirnaKa of Manetho the Sebennyte were divided into three books is a point on which all are agreed; and if he wrote, as Syncellus says he did, " Kara filfit]aiv Brjpooaaov" in imitation of Berosus, whose XaXBaiKu were in three books, it was probably this fact that suggested to him a similar distribution of his own work. However this was, Josephus gives us " from Book II." of Manetho a passage containing an account of the Shepherd Kings, and the same list of six names which forms Dy...
