William S. Rice Arts & Crafts Block Prints, 2012 (Calendar, 2012)

Artist, author, craftsman, and teacher William Seltzer Rice (American, 18731963) was twenty-seven when he came to California and began traveling, sketching, and painting throughout the state to familiarize himself with its history, flora, and fauna. Moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1910, he took an active part in the flourishing Arts and Crafts movement.
