The work of compilation and verification of the Worcester Births, Marriages and Deaths (to form Vol. XII. of the Society's Collections) has much exceeded the original estimate, both in number of names and the time required in preparation for the press. Proofs of the type have in many cases been submitted to representatives of families for comparison and approval, and the results will greatly increase the genealogical value of the book. Several hundred names have been added from different sources. The printing of the Births is now well advanced. The labor of this undertaking has retarded somewhat the Town Record publication.
