She was his high school sweetheart who died in a tragic car accident. Joey Stenson is also part of Walteras past and was his best friend growing up, until he, too, was visited by death. Jim is a very shady teenager, but he is also Steven Fareas brother, who does drugs and parties like itas the 1970s. Jim is Stevenas guide when he is not dealing or talking on the phone. The story ends when Walter Smith takes his own life. Steven moves on, but in a turn of events, his own past follows him, revealing a secret that changes his life forever.
